David Nickell, chief strategist and COO of AVITSI, also began as an enlisted serviceman in the USN where he spent his time as a 2M troubleshooter and ISM specialist working on infrastructure projects in the Windows NT 4.0 and OSP fiber areas. After an honorable discharge David went on to build and manage teams for GoDaddy.com and Discovery Land Company, creating training and support to better explain technology to a wider audience.
Derek Nickell
CEO
Derek Nickell, chief engineer and CEO of AVITSI, started his private career after 6 years of enlisted service in the USN, where he managed and repaired IT and RF communications equipment. This led to careers with General Dynamics and L3 Communications, and later on to broadcast engineering for live productions. His latest endeavors have been in product management for Teradek, creating video hardware and software solutions for broadcast industry professionals.
